Dada Saheb Phalke award and Bengali’s indeed have an in-depth connection! We the bongs always leave a mark at this prestigious national award ceremony and this year has been no exception!!
But this year’s celebration has been a little distinct with a hoard of new talents marking their mark at the national level. Subhadeep Chakraborty is one such name. Though Subhadeep has not yet ventured into full-fledged film making as yet, but he has left his mark with his first short film “Antodipan“, last year. Taking cue and acquiring confidence from his debut, the filmmaker made his second short film ‘Torsha’ featuring Snehashis Bhattacharya, Manali Basu, Tanusree Halder and Nikita Mehta.
Organized on the 30th of April, ‘Torsha’ received rave reviews and was hugely appreciated by the judges of Dada Saheb Phalke award 2018, but the talk of the evening was Subhadeep’s incredible directorial skills.
But sadly the director could not be a part of this esteemed awards ceremony. “I physically could not be a part of the revelry as I was in Bangalore then”, Subhadeep expressed. But he is in talks with the authorities and he will soon be sent the remaining certificates and other documents”,
While throwing light into the storyline, the film maker said that the story revolves around a rich mix of fantasy and realism- a blend which has always been Subhodeep’s forte. More strength and best wishes to Subhodeep from the entire team of TollyTrip.
