Adapted from Samaranjit Chakrborty’s novel of the same name; Crisscross deals with the turmoil’s, crisis, agony and passions of five women from different socio- economic backgrounds. Ira, Suzy, Ms. Sen, Meher and Rupa as essayed perfectly on screen by Mimi, Priyanka Sarkar, Jaya Ahsan, Nusrat Jahan and Sohini Sarkar respectively, are befitting replicas of the oppressed, accommodating, pain-stricken and suffering women of our society. Money and fame can’t buy everything and Mimi’s Ira and Jaya’s Ms. Sen are testimony to the same.
Produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, the trailer which has been released last month is already a huge success. The audiences have lapped it up very well and are waiting to catch a glimpse of the social drama which is releasing on the 10th of August.
Torn between her work and love life, Ira who is a photojournalist is perplexed and trudges the path of life, aimlessly. Suzy who is a single mother and a painter by profession is struggling hard to raise her son. Ms. Sen is a highly ambitious woman and is more inclined to her work as compared to her personal life. Meher on the other hand is a budding actress who is having a tough time in getting a foothold in the industry. Sohini is a simple, house wife who is a victim of domestic violence. She secretly nurtures a desire to lead an independent life on her own terms.
However as the title suggests the lives of these five women soon intersects and what culminates thereafter is what the viewers will have to watch in the theaters. The music of the film which is already a hit among the youngsters has been composed by Jam 8.
