Last time we published an article on Mainak Bhowmick’s challenges in selecting the lead actor for his upcoming movie ‘Happy Pill’. After shuttling between Ritwick Chakraborty and Anirban Bhattacharya, Mainak has finally settled for the former. Mainak’s last released film was ‘Bibaho Diaries’, and initially he had thought of repeating the same star cast. But this time he could not get the dates of Ritwick Chakraborty. So ‘Eagoler Chokh’ famed actor Anirban Bhattacharya’s name was doing the rounds for the lead role but Mainak has declined to confirm the same. Not it is officially confirmed that Ritwick will play the part of the lead actor in the movie.
Mainak is one of the most bankable directors in T-town with his films like ‘Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends’, ‘Bibaho Diaries’, ‘Family Album’ etc are experiencing success in the box office. His movies have social message imbibed in a fun filled script. This time ‘Happy Pill’ deals with ways to remain in high spirits in front of great challenges of life.
Ritwick plays a medical college drop out who is unable to continue his studies due to financial issue. Not bogged down by his problems, Ritwick only faces life with happiness but tries to spread the same with people in his connection. He shows the way to remain in good humor in face of practical problems.
Ritwick will pair up with Sohini Sarkar in this film. The movie is slated to go on production floor from 28th July and this time Mainak seems to have the solutions to all the practical problems through his ‘Happy Pill’. The rest is just waiting for the time of the movie launch.
