Director Abhishek Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput had earlier collaborated for ‘Kai Po Che’ which was based on a real-life incident. Their new film ‘Kedarnath’ is also set against the backdrop of a real-life tragedy and just like ‘Kai Po Che’, it has a social message in it. Sara Ali Khan will be seen as the co-star this time with him. Its the debut film of Sara. The trailer of Kedarnath has been released and has started trending on social media in no time.
Sushant is played the role of a Muslim pithu named Mansoor, happens to be Sara’s companion on the pilgrimage, during which the two fall in love. Sara features as a tourist-pilgrim Mukku. Apart from the difference in their societal status, the major reason the people around them have an issue with their love is that they belong to different religions. Adding to the tragedy in their lives is a natural disaster that strikes the town and several other parts of the state.
Recently, the priests of Kedarnath had demanded a blanket ban on the film claiming that the film promotes love jihad as the film revolves around the life of an upper-class Hindu girl and a Muslim pithoo. Will the audience love the chemistry or the movie will actually take a twist before the movie launch, we have to wait and watch. In the mean time, Kedarnath is all set to hit the theaters on December 7, 2018.
