The trailer for Vinod Kapri’s Pihu has been released. The unconventional social thriller has for its protagonist a two-year-old girl. The trailer is an unnerving depiction of the potentially dangerous situations the little girl gets into as her mother lies in bed unresponsive and she is left to her own devices without supervision. Based on a true story, Pihu stars Myra, Vishwakarma, Prerna Sharma and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, known for producing movies like The Lunchbox, Shahid and Khosla Ka Ghosla. Pihu revolves around a two-year-old negotiating her sometimes dangerous home as her mother lies unresponsive and her absent father tries to communicate with them. The film seems to be circling around the small girl and it would be an interesting thing to watch whether the director would be able to make a tricky situation work or not.
It is an emotionally riveting thriller based on a true story which is sure to intrigue audiences. This is the first of its kind film to have only a 2-year-old protagonist throughout the entire duration of the film. Pihu has already received accolades at various international film festivals. Pihu was selected as an official entry for prestigious international film festivals which include Vancouver, Palm Springs, Iran, Morocco, and Germany. It also went on to win ‘Best Film’ at Morocco. It was also the opening film at India’s biggest film festival – International Film Festival of India, Goa (2017) where it received rave reviews. For those who often complain that Bollywood doesn’t try anything new, this some real refreshment as an idea. The film is all set to release on the 16th of November.
